Fox stands by decision, Elway supports his coach

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - John Fox would tell Peyton Manning to take the knee again.

John Elway, of all people, agreed with that call.

Given 31 seconds, two timeouts, the ball at the 20 and one of the best quarterbacks in the game, the Broncos coach decided to run out the clock and head to overtime.

Result: Baltimore 38, Denver 35. End of season in Broncoland.

Fox said he felt good about the decision when he made it Saturday, toward the end of one of the most disheartening losses in the franchise's history.



AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A person familiar with the situation says Lance Armstrong confessed to Oprah Winfrey during an interview Monday that he used performance-enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the interview is to be broadcast Thursday on Winfrey's OWN network.

Armstrong was stripped of all seven Tour titles last year in the wake of a voluminous U.S. Anti-Doping Agency report that portrayed him as a ruthless competitor, willing to go to any lengths to win the prestigious race.

Wyoming Senate Passes Education Reform Bill

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The full Wyoming Senate has given preliminary approval to a sweeping education reform bill that would drastically reduce the administrative role of state's top public schools official. The bill, called Senate File 104, passed by a vote of 19-to-10 after a two-hour hearing on Monday afternoon.

Buffalo, Johnson County Meetings Coming Tuesday

Both the City of Buffalo and Johnson County Commissioners will have their second meetings of January on Tuesday and both look to have fairly full Agendas.

Johnson County Backs Grant Application For Senior Center

The Buffalo Senior Center is applying for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) through the Wyoming Business Council, and they approached the Johnson County Commissioners to sponsor the grant application.

JCSD1 Votes To Dedicate Land To City For Conrad Street

At their meeting Monday night, the Johnson County School District One board of Trustees voted to dedicate land at the site of the new Cloud Peak Elementary School to the City of Buffalo for an eventual continuation of Conrad Street to Main Street.

Vehicle Pursuit Through Sheridan Monday

At approximately 11:30 Monday morning, Sheridan Police became involved in a vehicle pursuit. A media release from the Sheridan P.D. States that the vehicle was initially observed by an on-duty Sheridan Police Officer in the 300 block of East 5th Street in Sheridan.
