Amnesty Week at Local Libraries

All four of the Sheridan County Public Libraries will be offering a “Food For Fines” Amnesty Week, beginning Sunday, December 8th and running through Saturday, December 14th.

City Gives Final Acceptance of Poplar Grove Phase Two Subdivision

Phase two of the Poplar Grove subdivision in Sheridan has been given the thumbs up by the City. During Monday night's Sheridan City Council meeting, the Council approved final acceptance of the subdivision. City Engineer Lane Thompson.

UW Researchers Contribute to Significant Recovery

A husband and wife research team from the University of Wyoming was recently part of a group that made a significant recovery of rocks from the Earth's deepest ocean crust. Geology Professors Michael Cheadle and Barbara John made the discovery in the Pacific Ocean's Hess Deep Rift.

District Two Elects New Chairman of the Board

Rich Bridger assumed the reins as chairman of Sheridan County School District 2 trustees Monday evening. Ann Perkins was named vice chair, and Wayne Schatz and Marva Craft retained their positions as treasurer and clerk respectively.

A Special Visit

Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) visits with SPC Matthew Court of Sheridan at Isa Air Base in Bahrain. Barrasso along with Governor Mead, spent Thanksgiving day with members of the Wyoming Army National Guard 133rd Engineering Company.

Bronc football banquet / Pokes basketball posts victory / winter sports tip off Friday

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football held their post season awards banquet at Sheridan high school last night.

Head coach Don Julian says they had a great night as they looked back on the accomplishments from the 2013 season.

One of the biggest moments of the night comes at the end when this year's senior class hands the torch off to the juniors who will lead the Broncs next season.

And Julian says it's important for all the bronc football players to stay busy.

Wheeler Retires as High School Principal

Sheridan High School Principal Dirlene Wheeler will wrap up 14 years in the job – and 35 years as an educator – at the end of the academic year next June.

Commissioners to discuss rural addressing

The Johnson County Commissioners will have their first meeting of December on Tuesday and will work through a full morning agenda.
