Pet Safety in the Cold

The extreme cold spell that has hit the area this week is expected to last until the early part of next week. The below zero temps not only pose a danger to humans, but animals, in particular, our pets, are at risk as well.

Community Holiday Dinner Still Needs Volunteers

The 23rd annual Community Holiday Dinner will take place this Sunday from 4 to 7 pm at the Sheridan Holiday Inn. Last year over 1,200 people were served during the event.

Project to Use Gaming and Robotics to Boost Math Learning

Researchers with the University of Wyoming have received a $1.2 million grant to study if gaming and robotics can be used to teach culturally sensitive computational thinking skills to middle school students. Jaqueline Leonard directs the university’s Science and Mathematics Teaching Center.

Sheridan College Presents 'Charlie Brown Christmas'

The Sheridan College Jazz Combo and Sheridan County Children's Chorale will unite in a live performance of music from “A Charlie Brown Christmas” during a screening of the feature film next week. Performances will be at 7 Friday evening, Dec. 13, and at 2 and 7 on Saturday, Dec.

Generals / Lady Generals split games in Rock Springs / Cowgirls fall at home

SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college basketball teams split road games at Western Wyoming in Rock Springs Wednesday night.

The Lady Generals lost 68-59 freshmen Sierra Toms led the way with 24 points.

The Generals got a game high 24 points from Josh Adeyeye and 20 from Jamir Andrews in their 84-70 victory they stand at 12-2 on the season.

Both teams play conference games in Gillette Saturday night.

COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls lost 63-58 at home against 11th ranked Colorado Wednesday night.

Johnson County approves WyDOT easement

The Wyoming Department of Transportation wants an easement for equipment to be placed on county-owned land at the intersection of Fort and Main Streets in Buffalo.

During the monthly meeting of the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees Wednesday, Chief Human Resources Officer Len Gross gave a presentation that outlined various methods the hospital is using to cut supply costs.
