Council Presented With Annual Sheridan Police Department Report

During a work session Monday, the Sheridan City Council were presented with the 2012 Sheridan Police Department Report, courtesy of Chief Richard Adriaens. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the details.

SC Tech Students to Hold Expo and Open House

Next week students from the Sheridan College Technology Department will be hosting a Technology Expo and Open house at both the Tech Center on campus and the Sheridan College Construction Technology Shop at 244 North Brooks Street.

Sheridan Mayor Invites Legislators to Come Take a Look

Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey recently spent some time in Cheyenne visiting with legislators, representatives from the Business Council and other top elected officials. Kinskey says that he offered those he met with an invitation to come to Sheridan.

Frank McCarthy named Coach of the Year for Region IX North

(Sheridan, Wyo.) – Sheridan College women’s basketball coach Frank McCarthy has officially been named the 2012-2013 Region IX North Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year after leading his team to a 22-8 overall record.

McCarthy’s Generals had yet another outstanding season, winning the NJCAA North Sub-Region IX Title for the ninth consecutive season after posting a 13-3 conference record this season.

McCarthy’s team spent six straight weeks on the NJCAA Division I Top 25 list and will look to continue their success at the Region IX Conference Championships in March.

Scammers Target Sheridan Residents

Sheridan is being targeted by another wave of scam artists. The first newly reported scam involves a telephone caller who insists the recipient is being watched by their Internet provider.

Wyoming Law Allows Parole For Juvenile Murderers

Wyoming Governor, Matt Mead, has signed a bill into law that ends mandatory life imprisonment penalties for murders under the age of 18.

Sheridan County Museum / Sheridan High School Spring Musical

4-A REGIONAL / 1-A / 2-A STATE HOOPS THIS WEEK

1-A / 2-A REGIONAL / STATE BASKETBALL - At the 1-A East regional in Douglas the Arvada/Clearmont Lady Panthers won the consolation game and will open the state tournament Thursday morning in Casper at 10:30 vs Little Snake River.

In Dayton in the 2-A East regional the Big Horn Lady Rams and the Tongue River Lady Eagles met in the final with the Lady Eagles coming out on top 45-32.

The Lady Rams open the state tournament Thursday morning at 10:30 against Thermopolis that game will be live on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM.

Kindergarten Registration is This Week

Sheridan County School District #2 will be holding kindergarten registration this week Wednesday through Friday. District #2 Director of Elementary Education Scott Stults explains what parents will need to bring with them when registering their child.
