Senator to Yank Bill on Life Sentences

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Wyoming state senator says he intends to pull a bill he had sponsored that would have ended the sentence of life without parole.

The Sheridan Broncs were defeated by the Laramie Plainsmen today with a final score of 62 to 44.

The Lady Broncs won their second conference game today with a 46 to 26 victory over the Laramie Lady Plainsmen!

Mountain Lion Hunt Area 23 Closed

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department announced a reminder Friday that mountain lion Hunt Area 23 closed January 16th. In a media release, the department says the area closed because the harvest limit of 20 mountain lions was reached.

Wyoming House Approves Fuel Tax Hike

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A proposal to raise Wyoming fuel taxes by a dime a gallon has cleared its final vote in the state House of Representatives. The House on Friday approved a bill by a vote of 35-to-24. The measure now heads to the Wyoming Senate.

Hess Gift of $4.4M to Boost UW Energy Research

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A multi-million-dollar corporate donation will help scientists at the University of Wyoming take an extremely close look at oil and gas deposits. Gov. Matt Mead and university officials announced the $4.4 million donation from the New York City-based Hess Corp. on Friday.
