City of Sheridan Hosts Classes on New Building Codes

The City of Sheridan Building Department is offering a series of classes for architects, engineers, building contractors, and design professionals to get up to speed on the city's new building codes.

The Buffalo Chamber of Commerce released numbers from last weekend's Oktoberfest, and they are similar to last year's numbers, they said.

Don't be surprised if there are a lot of moving trucks on the roads this week; Sheridan's newest housing units are opening. Three new buildings belonging to Highland Property Management on the west end of 5th Street have been under construction the past several months.

RAMS MOVE UP TO #2 / KAMRIN ALLEN PLAYING WELL FOR THE POKES

RAM FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams football team has jumped to number two in the latest high school football rankings which were released Tuesday night.

The Rams are coming off a 30-26 come from behind win over previous number two team Glenrock and Rams Head coach Micheal McGuire says it was good to see the players face some adversity and find a way to come back and post the victory against a very good team.

And McGuire says the rams are 4-0 and still a work in progress but they are getting better each week.

Buffalo's Cloud Peak School Construction 'Ahead Of The Game'

Johnson County School District Budiness Manager Matt Ramey updated the school board on the status of the construction of the district's new Cloud Peak School at their meeting in Kaycee Monday.

Ramey said the individual parts of the school have now become “essentially one building.”

Local Writer Wins Award For Novel 'Broken Sight'

Buffalo writer Steve Rzasa has been awarded a Carol Award for his latest book entitled Broken Sight, which was published in 2011.

KAMRIN ALLEN LEADS POKES ON THE GOLF COURSE

Former Sheridan Bronc and current Wyoming Cowboy Kamrin Allen led the Cowboy golf team during the final round of the Mark Simpson-Colorado Invitational Tuesday in Erie, Colorado.

Allen finished with a five-under 67 in the final round to finish tied for 20th place.

The 67 (-5) tied for the second-best round of the day at the event and is a career-best round and is his third top-25 finish in four events this season and the third of his career

Lady Bison Swimmers Compete At Cheyenne Last Weekend

The BHS Lady Bison swimmers were at the Cheyenne Invite on Saturday and had a number of top-10 finishes during the meet.

A couple of the top-10 finishes for the girls were Hannah Chapin taking second in the 50 free and Gracie Meacham finishing fourth in diving.

The Lady Bison swimmers will host their own Buffalo Invite this Friday at the Johnson County Family YMCA with action getting started at 4pm.
