The Sheridan Police Department continues to search for a male suspect who sexually assaulted and robbed an 82-year-old Sheridan woman at her home on North Gould Street.

Aside from a stabbing that occurred last Thursday night in Sheridan that had no relation to rodeo week, the weekend was relatively typical says Sheridan Police Lieutenant Chris Dahmke.

New Rodeo Royalty

Saturday evening Sheridan greeted its new rodeo queen Leah Hall, senior princess Bailey McClean and princess Gabrielle Koltiska. Here the just crowned Leah Hall, in the center, mounts her horse and takes her first spin as queen around the arena and below the "Sheridan WYO Rodeo" sign. On the left is princess Gabrielle and on the right is senior princess Bailey.

Stabbing Suspect Dies

The suspect in a stabbing incident that occurred last Thursday night at the Dunnuck Apartments in Sheridan has died. Sheridan Police Lieutenant Chris Dahmke says that 43-year-old Brian Lester of Sheridan passed away a day after the incident
took place.

Glendo State Park Threatened By Fire

Another state park in southeast Wyoming is threatened by a wildfire.

SHERIDAN 13 YEAR OLD BABE RUTHERS WIN STATE TITLE

The Sheridan 13 year Babe Ruth team took their state title over the weekend.

They now head to the Babe Ruth regional tournament to be played in Boise, Idaho starting July 25th.

SHERIDAN LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL BEGIN POST SEASON PLAY

The Sheridan Little League Majors Team comprised of 11-12 year old Little League players will open their District Tournament against Gillette at 7pm tonight they have a bye on Tuesday.

They are scheduled to play Laramie on Wednesday at 4pm.

The teams in the Majors tournament are Gillette, Sheridan, Laramie, Torrington, Platte County and Newcastle.

Pool play is scheduled for Monday-Wednesday, and Thursday and Friday are a single elimination bracket.

Only the top two teams in the District 2, will advance to the State Tournament in Green River, beginning on July 25th.
