Mayoral Candidate Feels Outsourcing is an Issue for the City

Sheridan City Councilor and Mayoral Candidate Steve Brantz issued a news release stating that he feels the City has taken a step backwards in the decision to outsource utility bills to an out of state company.

Both Wyo Senators Reject Fair Pay Act

The Fair Pay Act was up for vote Tuesday in the U.S. Senate, and though Wyoming has the largest gender pay gap in the nation, both senators, Mike Enzi and John Barrasso, voted “Nay.”

WYOMING / MONTANA ALL-STAR BASKETBALL - The 37th Wyoming / Montana high school all-star basketball series opens tomorrow night in Sheridan at the Hoffman dome.

Three Sheridan high school players will represent Wyoming in this year's series they are Lady Bronc player Steph Sessions and Bronc's Hunter Reece and Riley Ryan.

The Bear Den of Cub Scout Pack 385 will be adopting the Kleenburn Recreation area later this year for their conservation requirements, which are a part of their advancement through the scouting program.

West Nile Virus Cases Down

The Associated Press reports human cases of West Nile Virus are on the decline in the state of Wyoming. In 2007, there were 185 cases and 2 deaths related to the virus, which tapered off to 10 cases in 2008, 12 cases and 1 death in 2009, 6 cases in 2010, and three infections last year.

Buffalo Council Awards Contract For Sports Fields Complex

At their Tuesday meeting, the Buffalo City Council awarded the contract to construct the sports fields complex to O'Dell Construction of Sheridan.

At the bid opening last week, all four bids came in substantially over the original engineer's estimate of $2 million.
