Sheridan P.D. Responds to Explosive Device

The Sheridan Police Department Thursday responded to a report of a possible explosive device in the 600 block of Monte Vista. Upon arrival, officers found two homemade M-80 sized firecrackers that had been found in the street. A media release issued by the P.D.

Honor Camp Escapee In Custody

James Friesen escaped from the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp Monday and was on the lamb until last night. He is now in police custody in South Dakota.

Prisoner, James Friesen, who had escaped from the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp in Newcasle on Monday is back in police custody.

Open Registration For Women's Self-Defense Course

Empower Wyoming is offering a women's self-defense class Monday at the Holiday Inn in Sheridan from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Big Horn Volunteer Fire Department Annual Pancake Breakfast will be held right here on the concrete apron and inside, just beyond the four overhead doors, this Saturday. It is free but donations will be accepted and you can even enter the raffle for a 37" Flat Screen TV. Everyone is welcome so bring your appetite and show up between 7 & 10 am.

The first formation meeting for the emergency shelter in Story will be held this Saturday afternoon at the Story Fire Hall. President of the Story Volunteer Fire Department Jerry Prescott says that anyone is welcome to attend the meeting.

Hunter Trailhead, Campground West of Buffalo Now Open

The Hunter Trailhead and Campground, approximately 15 miles west of Buffalo on Highway 16, is open now that construction on the site has been completed.

The project relocated the trailhead and campground facilities to a new area adjacent to the old areas.
