The SHS Symphonic Band

On Tuesday evening the Sheridan High School Band Department presented the May "Pops" Concert. Among their selections was "To Challenge the Sky and Heavens Above" by Robert W. Smith and directed by Band Director Diane Knutson. The selection highlighted soloists: Sara Burrell on the French Horn and Allison Kruse on the Oboe.

Outstanding Band Member - Trace Addlesperger

During the May "Pops" Concert held Tuesday evening many awards were presented near the end of the program, including this one from Band Director Diane Knutson to the Outstanding Sophomore Band Member Trace Addlesperger. As Trace came forward he got a big hug from Diane to go along with his award. Trace, who plays the trumpet, is also an All-State band awardee and a District Honor Band member.

2012 Hershey Track and Field Meet (updated)

Boys and girls between the ages of 9-14 were out in numbers for the local 2012 Hershey Track and Field meet held on Tuesday afternoon on Scott Field. Kids had the opportunity to throw a softball, do a standing long jump and run fast in various running events. Top finishers qualify for the State meet to be held in Lander Wyoming on Saturday, June 16th.

Buffalo Police Issue Warning Against New Phone Scam

The Buffalo Police Department has received notification of a new telephone scam and are warning residents to be aware and not be taken advantage of.

2012 WYOMING SPORTS HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE BIOS

Four individuals and a set of brothers are among the 11th class of inductees into the Wyoming Sports Hall of Fame.

The induction ceremony is at 6:30 p.m. June 23 at the Parkway Plaza Hotel in Casper. Cocktails and a silent auction start at 5 p.m.

The newest class includes former University of Wyoming football standouts Casey Bramlet of Wheatland and David Edeen of Cheyenne; multi-state standout and coach Bruce Collins of Rock Springs; long-time Rawlins High volleyball coach Sandy Jebens and brothers Ben and Blaine Phillips of Sheridan.

Buffalo Man Sentenced In Child Pornography Case

William Jannasch of Buffalo was sentenced in District Court on Monday in Buffalo after pleading guilty to two counts of possession with intent to deliver child pornography.

2011-12 SHS SPORTS / TROPPERS / WYO HALL OF FAME

2011-12 SHS ATHLETICS - The 2011-12 high school sports season closed over the weekend and we had a chance to sit down and talk with Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian about this past season.

He says the year will go down as maybe the best year ever for Sheridan high school varsity athletics.

Not only were there several successes on the field this past season but the students also did the job in the classroom.

SEEDA Discusses Additional Five Acres at Hi-Tech Park

The Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority Joint Powers Board discussed the recent agreement between the City of Sheridan and Artist Neltje that landed the City an additional five acres adjacent to the Hi-Tech Business Park in north Sheridan.
