Area Districts Granted Waivers For Student/Teacher Ratios

Twenty School Districts in Wyoming, including Sheridan County District 2 and Johnson County District 1 have been granted a waiver from the 16 to 1 student to teacher ratio in grades K-3 that was implemented by the State Legislature in 2011.

Wyoming Workforce Safety Has a Long Road to Haul

The state of Wyoming has had one on-the-job fatality every 10 days for the last 20 years, and that has made Wyoming either the first or second most dangerous state for employment since 2001.

Weekend Sports Recap For Johnson County

The Bison and Lady Bison soccer teams had the weekend off but will wrap their regular seasons up this week with three games beginning Tuesday with Worland, Thursday with Douglas and Friday with Newcastle.

The Bison track and field team hosted their Crazy Woman Invite Friday and had a number of athletes perform well, including Shannon Horn winning the girls 100 meter dash; Hannah Chapin in the girls 1,600; Matt Scarlett in the boys 1,600; and Taylor Hepp in the boys high jump.
Both the Bison boys and girls teams won the meet.

Earlier this year, the Wyoming legislature considered requiring drug tests for Welfare recipients in Wyoming.

Auditions For Missoula Children's Theatre Monday In Buffalo

The Missoula Children's Theatre will present their adaptation of King Arthur's Quest this Saturday, but auditions for local kids will be held Monday afternoon at Meadowlark Elementary School in Buffalo.

Saturday, the cafeteria at Sheridan Memorial Hospital became a wealth of information for new parents, expectant parents, or even those folks just thinking about becoming parents. It was the hospital's Baby Fair called “It's All About You, Baby.”

A Zumba Fundraiser

Today ends National Child Abuse Awareness month and Saturday, Lorrie Anderson with other local Zumba instructors, joined together in a two hour black light Zumba fundraiser with all proceeds benefiting the Advocacy and Resource Center in Sheridan.
