District 1 Pleased With Unchanging Cost of Living Bill

House Bill 47 to adopt a Hedonic Wage Index failed on introduction last week in Cheyenne, a bill that would have altered the way that school districts are compensated to pay staff.

SHERIDAN COLLEGE HOOPS - The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals split games with Miles City at home last night.

The Lady Generals got to a slow start but they went on a 21-7 run to start the second half and pulled away for the victory, Lady Generals Sophomore Fallon Lewis.

With the win they still have a chance to be the host team for their post season tournament but they must beat Casper at home Saturday and win at Gillette Tuesday, Lewis says their focus right now is on the number 4 ranked T-Birds.

The Food Group Growing in Sheridan County

A group working to make sure all Sheridan County children are well-fed is growing in Sheridan, working with county schools now for about a year and a half. Amy Albrecht is with The Food Group in Sheridan.

All five Sheridan County Commissioners were in Cheyenne last week to attend the Wyoming County Commissioners Association annual winter legislative meeting.

Buffalo Tobacco Compliance Checks Show High Failure Rate

Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder reported to the city council at their meeting Tuesday that during recent compliance checks at local retail establishments, four of fourteen sold tobacco products to minors.
That is just under a 29% failure rate.

JCSD1 Hosts Bid Opening For Cloud Peak School Wednesday

Bids on construction of Buffalo's new Cloud Peak School were opened Wednesday at school district offices.

The bid openings for the construction of Buffalo's new Cloud Peak School were held at the school district's offices Wednesday afternoon.
Eight bids were opened and read with the bids ranging from a low of $11,620,000 to a high of $13,028,625.

1A Basketball Regionals Begin Today for Kaycee Teams

The 1A Regional Basketball Tournament will get underway today in Gillette and both Kaycee teams will be in action. Kaycee's boys' team, the Buckaroos, will take their #3-seed in the NE against the #2 seed from the SE, Lingle-Ft. Laramie, with tip-off scheduled at 8:30 tonight.
The Kaycee Lady Bucs, #1 in the NE, will take on #4 from the SE Midwest today at 4pm.
We'll have results and where the teams are in the brackets tomorrow.
Buffalo's basketball teams will be finishing up their regular seasons this week, taking on Glenrock and Douglas.
