Saturday night at the Sheridan Holiday Inn, the Powder River Basin Resource Council held its annual meeting marking 40 years of encouraging responsible development in Wyoming.

Buffalo's Movember kickoff event was held at the Occidental Hotel November 1st. Local men shaved their mustaches and will spend the month growing them back to raise awareness for men's health issues. Photos by Krista Palmer.

It was a matter of convenience way back in 1845. Most folks were farmers and they figured Tuesday was the best day to come to town from the farm to vote.

Times have changed and for most of us, the weekend has become our time off, our convenient time, which sparks this week's poll question.

11 Layoffs at Black Hills Corp.

Black Hills Corp. has laid off 11 of its workers at the Wyodak coal mine north of Gillette.

Black Hills external affairs manager Wes Ashton tells the Gillette News-Record the layoffs are in response to changing market conditions.

The layoffs leave the surface coal mine with 69 employees.
