The red carpet was rolled out at the Sheridan Palace Restaurant Thanksgiving Day. It was a feast fit for a king as the owners, Jane and Steve Cain fed close to 300 people, all at no charge. It began fourteen years ago.
In what appeared to be a new event during the 32nd Annual Volunteers of America Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving was the Pumpkin Toss. Here 6-youngsters lined up and on signal launched their pumpkins to see who could throw their's the furtherest. This unusual cloud formation west of South Park on Thanksgiving morning conjured up many possible interpretations. One suggestion added to those above was that it looked like one of the "three-little-pigs" running to the right. What is your interpretation?
There's still time this morning to get down to the Kendrick Park Bandshell and participate in the annual Volunteers of America Turkey Trot. Aside from doing preemptive damage control for the inevitable Thanksgiving binge, the event benefits the community's homeless shelter.
