30th Annual Friends of the Library Auction

Saturday night, the Friends of the Library celebrated 30 years of fundraising for the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library and it was a packed house or should we say...library.

Ranchester's Fall Festival

Icy roads along with the colder temperatures couldn't keep folks away from the Ranchester Town Hall Saturday. It was their Fall Festival which included a craft bazaar and free chili supper with apple and pumpkin pie.

Community Gear Swap

Saturday, the Sheridan College Outdoor Adventure Club hosted a gear swap at the Watt Agricultural Building and folks were ready to catch a bargain, even as winter weather moved into Sheridan.

Honoring All Who Served

During veteran's recognition at the Veterans Day program of the VA Medical Center Sunday morning WWII veterans Charlie Patton tipped his hat while Melvin M. Heckman stood holding the commemorative medallion that was given to each veteran.

A Taste of Winter: Roads Are Still Slick

Although the winter weather advisory was cancelled earlier than expected yesterday, the remnants of our first blast of winter weather this season are still lingering. Most of the roads are still slick with ice from Saturday's storm, so please be careful out there.

The mother of an active 4-H member said at last week's meeting of the Sheridan County Fair Association's Board of Trustees, that trouble is brewing. Chari Frederickson addressed the board with her concerns of miscommunication when it comes to certain requirements.

Sheridan Media Week In Review

It's no surprise that the biggest story this past week was the 2012 General Election. President Barack Obama won his bid for re-election, defeating Republican Candidate Mitt Romney. Closer to home, it was Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey beating out challenger City Councilman Stever Brantz for what will be his third term as Mayor of Sheridan.
