Local Hoop Action From Friday

Both the Sheridan Bronc and Lady Bronc Basketball teams had convincing wins Friday night against Riverton, at a tournament in Riverton. Kayla Woodward led the Lady Broncs with 21 as they easily cruised to a 76-40 win. The Broncs won pretty handily as well, they defeated Riverton 69-42. Both teams will play Evenston today. We'll have the action for you live on AM 1410 KWYO beginning with the Lady Broncs at 1:30, followed by the Broncs at 3 o'clock

New Fairgrounds Director Settling In

It's been just short of a month since Melissa Albrecht was named the new Facilities Director at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds. Albrecht comments on how things have been coming along since taking over the position.

UW Receives Award For Alcohol Prevention Work

The University of Wyoming has received a national Award for its effort to reduce alcohol abuse.

Wyoming to Join Federal Health Law Challenge

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming will join Florida and other states in a federal lawsuit challenging the federal health care reform law enacted last year. Governor Matt Mead announced Friday that Wyoming will file on Monday to join the lawsuit.

Legislature Again to Consider Gay Marriage Bills

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Legislature will again this year consider whether to prohibit the state from recognizing same-sex marriages performed elsewhere. Wyoming law already specifies that marriages performed in the state must be between a man and a woman.

Department of Education Office to Move to Cheyenne

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The state Education Department will close its branch office in Laramie and move its staff to Cheyenne.

The Lady Broncs win big against Riverton 76-40. The Broncs also win big against Riverton 69-42.


Warren Mischke, Information and Education Specialist with the Wyoming Game and Fish Deptartment's Sheridan Regional Office, reports that mountain lion Hunt Area 23 closed Jan. 7, 2011. The area closed because the harvest limit of 20 mountain lions was reached.
