Wyoming Jobless Rate Steady at 5.8% for November

Wyoming's unemployment rose marginally from October to November from 5.7 to 5.85. Sheridan County saw its numbers go up slightly from 6.1 to 6.55 in the same time period.

Yellowstone National Park's East Entrance is scheduled to open for the winter season today.

Bison B-ballers Fall to Sheridan, All Teams Head to Break

The last games scheduled for Buffalo and Kaycee high school athletes before the Christmas/New Year's break were the basketball games with Sheridan Tuesday night.
The boys fell to the Broncs in Sheridan 47-37 and the girls fell to the Lady Broncs at home 56-28.
The teams now sit at 4-3 for the year.
All teams will now head into the break and start play again the first week in January.
The Bison basketball team will play Wheatland at home Friday, January 6, the girls will play at Wheatland the same day.
Buffalo's wrestling team will be in Gillette Tuesday, January 3rd.

BHS 'Holiday Helpers” Out In Force Wednesday Morning

Members of the BHS Band play Christmas tunes downtown during the Holiday Helpers event to raise money and food donations for the Bread of Life Food Pantry.

Buffalo High School students were out in the community Wednesday morning performing various tasks, lending their talents musically or vocally, or serving the community in a number of ways.

2011 HOLIDAY BREAK SPORTS AND ACTIVITES OFFERINGS

YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMPS - The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals will be hosting one day youth camps for boys and girls on New Year's Eve day at the Hoffman dome.

The Generals camp for boys in the 1st through 8th grades will be on Saturday December 31st from 8:00 to noon in the Hoffman dome the girls camp is for kindergarten through 8th grade and will run on New Year's eve day from noon to 4:00.

JCHC Construction, Budget Updates

The Johnson County Healthcare Center's construction project is on schedule for the most part, and still projected to finish under budget, according to Hospital Administrator Sandy Ward.

Buffalo Council Tables Engineer at Request of Citizen

The Buffalo City Council voted to table the hiring of a joint city/county engineer after hearing an explanation of why he thought the position was unnecessary from concerned citizen Ron Williams.
