As high school students prepare to start class tomorrow, the group with the most nerves might just be the incoming freshman, and SHS is trying to make their transition a little easier.

One New Fire in Big Horns, 10 Contained by Sunday Night

One new wildfire was caused by lightning Sunday night located one half-mile northwest of Shell Reservoir in Big Horn County in the Cloud Peak Wilderness.

WEEKEND SPORTS WRAP UP

FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team beat Cheyenne Central 31-12 Friday night jumping out to a 14-0 halftime lead and building that lead to 31-6 entering the 4th quarter.

Senior running back Jordan Roberts ran for 137 yards and two touchdowns in his first game in a Bronc uniform.

Quarterback Kevin Bakkehaug threw for 162 yards and two scores as the Broncs took the opener Head coach Don Julian.

6th Annual Harvest Fest

The Exhibit Hall at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds became a place of homespun fun and food Saturday as the Powder River Basin Resource Council hosted its major fundraiser, the 6th annual Harvest Fest.

This past weekend was busy with all the communities surrounding Sheridan having celebrations and Big Horn was no different. It was fun, food, fine cars. It was the 2nd annual Absaraka State Takeover.

25th Annual Story Days

Settling in for an afternoon of music at Story Days.

Saturday was the 25th annual Story Days, a day jam packed with sidewalk vendors and activities for all ages. Cars had to give way to pedestrian traffic as both sides of the main thoroughfare in Story was parked full.

93 Annual Crow Fair & Parade

Held every year in August, the Crow Fair, Parade, and Rodeo had something for everyone to enjoy. Held at Crow Agency MT, "Teepee Capital of the World", there was daily parades, rodeo performances, and pow wow dancing and drums.

Cameron Irwin Takes Elks Youth Rodeo "All Around Senior 2011"

Sunday afternoon after two days of competition at the 19th Annual Elks Youth Rodeo held at the Sheridan County Fairgounds, Cameron Irwin from Buffalo, Wyoming came out on top as the Elks Youth Rodeo "All Around Senior 2011" and drove off in this 2011 Ford Truck thanks to Fremont Motor Sheridan, Inc. who provided the one year lease of this 3/4 ton, 4 wheel drive, crew cab.
