Blast at Wyo Oil Production Site Kills 3 Workers

CHEYENNE (AP) - An oil company spokesman says an explosion at a Wyoming oil storage site has killed three workers.

X-COUNTRY - The Bronc and Lady Bronc cross country runners started their season at the Casper invitational last Friday, the Broncs had four varsity runners and did not qualify for the team race and the Lady Broncs raced JV in the first meet of the season, that will all change this week as Sheridan high school will host the Michelle Ludwig invitational.

Head Coach Art Bauers says their Pre-season went well and both teams are young and the opening race went well.

Buffalo, Jo Co sign MOU For Fire Mitigation in Mosier Gulch

Fire mitigation in Mosier Gulch west of Buffalo will begin later this fall, after a Memorandun of Understanding, or MOU was signed between the City of Buffalo, Johnson County, the Bureau of Land Management and private landowners in the area.

The City of Buffalo has found some possible issues with their new wastewater treatment plant, which has been finished less than a year.

The City of Buffalo is considering digging a second raw water well near the existing well it already has west of town. The city is looking at expanding its raw water irrigation capacity and using the well as a backup for city drinking water if necessary.

Bison Sports Weekend Results

The Bison sports teams were in action over the weekend, and results were mixed.
The Lady Bison volleyball team was at the Douglas Invite and split their matches, going 2-2. Buffalo beat Cheyenne South in pool play 3-0 before losing to Douglas 1-2. In the tournament, the Lady Bison beat Newcastle and then lost to the eventual tournament champion Torrington.
Jenna Anderson and Kinzi Litzel led in attacking and blocking, and Sam Schroefel served 95% and had 86 assists for the tournament.
The girls will be at the Gillette Invite this Friday and Saturday.

Wilson Trust Property May Get a Makeover

The City of Sheridan intends to purchase the Wilson Land Trust property and lease it to the YMCA.

The Sheridan City Council approved a resolution authorizing submission of a grant application to the Wyoming Business Council that would allow for the City to purchase the Wilson Trust Property and lease it to the Sheridan County YMCA.
