Rockies Snap Two-Game Slide

DENVER (AP) - Juan Nicasio allowed three singles over eight innings and Mark Ellis had three hits, including a two-run homer, in his Colorado debut as the Rockies beat the slumping Kansas City Royals 9-0 on Friday night.

Troy Tulowitzki connected on a two-run homer, Todd Helton added a two-run double and pinch-hitter Charlie Blackmon lined the first homer of his major league career - on his 25th birthday, no less - to help the Rockies snap a two-game slide. Nicasio (3-1) struck out four and got the Royals to hit into 16 groundouts. The Royals lost their fourth straight.

U.S. 14 Now Open Between Greybull and Sheridan

A temporary detour has allowed US 14 to open for the holiday weekend.

The two-lane detour that was constructed to bypass the slide that closed U.S. Highway 14, 31.5 miles east of Greybull on June 13 is now open.

Wyoming-Park Project Groundbreaking

Ground was broke Friday on the Wyoming-Park Project in Sheridan.

City of Sheridan officials held the groundbreaking for the Wyoming-Park project at the corner of what is best known as "malfunction junction" Friday.

Michael Benjamin Sentenced

Benjamin receives suprevised probation and intensive inpatient treatment on a count of Felony Domestic Battery.

41-year-old Michael Benjamin was sentenced in 4th Judicial District Court Thursday morning on two Counts. For Count 1, Felony Domestic Battery, he received two to four years in prison, suspended, with four years supervised probation.
