Update: Suspect Arrested Tuesday Afternoon

18-year-old Riley Larkins was arrested early Tuesday afternoon for his role in an incident involving a gun Monday night.

At about 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, 18-year-old Riley Larkins was located and arrested, says Sheridan County Attorney Matt Redle.

Fun at the Circus - Part II

Snickers Soccer Tournament Day 1

This last Saturday May 7th was the start of the Snickers Soccer Tournaments. The tournaments were held at the big horn equestrian center. The games started in the morning at 8:00 and went to 6:30pm at night. with over 20 fields there were a lot of games going on at once. There were 3 categories of soccer teams for both boys and girls starting with U10 then U12 and U14.

Last Chance

This last Friday May 6th, the Sheridan High School track team traveled to Gillette to compete. This was the last regular season track meet and the last chance athletes had to pre-qualify for state or make the cut to go to regionals the next week. The weather was great with it being warm and not very windy. Many athletes got personal bests at the meet and some did pre-qualify for the state meet.

City Offering Voluntary Buyouts

The City of Sheridan is once again offering voluntary buyouts for employees this year.

The City of Sheridan is once again offering full-time employees voluntary buyouts this year. The City is looking to reduce payroll by approximately $300,000 to $400,000 to help with the projected $1.6 million shortfall in the 2012 general fund budget.

The City of Sheridan Planning Commission approved an ordinance Monday night amending the City code to include a Medical Arts District.

Elephants = Circus in Town

The Sheridan County Fairgrounds was the place to be Monday afternoon as the circus came to town - the Shrine Circus to be exact. For two hours is was one act after another that thrilled the crowd. The elephants are always a hit and during the intermission many youngster went for an elephant ride, had their faces painted or just ate cotton candy.

3 Sheridan Teams finish on top at the Snickers Cup

After 114 teams played 200 plus games on 22 fields over the course of two days - three Sheridan teams garnered Championship status. Shown here is the U14 Sheridan girls team that beat the Rushmore girls team 4 - 1.

City Adopts Budget Resolution at Special Meeting

The Sheridan City Council held a special meeting Monday night where they passed a budget resolution directing staff to publish a Request for Proposals for ambulance services within the City.

Don't Tell My Parents

Teens will educate parents at the "Tell It to Me Straight" dinner May 17th at the Historic Sheridan. Free to the first 100 people to RSVP.

On Tuesday evening, May 17th, the Historic Sheridan Inn will be the venue for a "Tell it to Me Straight - Dinner Like No Other" event.
