While the first April meeting of the Sheridan County Commission was under an hour, about twenty minutes of public comment was spent on the issue of Resolution 11-01-001.

A request from Developer Steve Grimshaw to rezone just over 3 acres of land north of the Quail Ridge Drive and Covey Run Road intersection was denied by the Sheridan City Council.

This last Friday and Saturday April 1st and 2nd the Wesleyan Church held a conference. Eric and Leslie Ludy are a couple traveling the nation speaking on the topics of love, romance, the other gender, sex, and many other things similar. During the Conference they spoke about how they both had bad relationships until they let God lead them to whoever he wanted them to date.

City Holds Fire Union Grievance Hearing

The local firefighters union has filed a grievance with the City of Sheridan over wage increases.

After a brief executive session Monday night, the Sheridan City Council held a hearing in regard to a grievance filed by the Local International Association of Firefighters Union.

School District 2: No Meadowlark Contractor Bid Awarded

A question on the 30/70 statute is still being addressed before awarding the contractor bid on the new Meadowlark Elementary School in Sheridan.

And the Contractor Bid award goes to... no one ... yet.

Sheridan Jr. High Art Extravaganza Opens Today

The Sheridan Junior High Art Extravaganza is on display throughout April at the SAGE Gallery at the Sheridan College Main Street location.

The Sheridan Artists’ Guild, Et al, or SAGE, is opening the Sheridan Junior High School Art Extravaganza exhibit today at the SAGE Gallery at the Sheridan College Main Street location.

Emergency Management Receives Sandbags

Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Coleman stands next to a delivery of 25,000 sandbags, which arrived Monday morning from the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security. Added to what the County already had, there are now 40,000 availalble to fill if springtime flooding occurs.

With springtime comes mountain runoff of rivers, creeks and streams. The folks at Sheridan County Emergency Management have been stockpiling sandbags in the storehouse in the event that waterways in this region go over their banks.

SOCCER / TRACK AND FIELD

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams play non-conference matches in Buffalo tonight.

Both the Bison and Lady Bison are ranked #1 in class 3-A while the Broncs and Lady Broncs are both ranked in the top five in 4-A this week.

The Broncs are off to a good start going 4-1, last year they started slow and came on strong and finished second at the state championships.

Head coach Kevin Riser says they wanted to make sure they started strong this year and the players have done a good job in the first three weeks of the season.
