Programs Explain How to Preserve Family Heirlooms

Two programs, sponsored by the Trails End State Historic Site in Sheridan and The Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum in Buffalo, will teach participants how they can preserve family treasures and heirlooms.

Under perfect weather conditions athletes ran, threw, vaulted, jumped, putt, hurdled and dashed at the 2011 Dan Hansen Invitational Track Meet Thursday. In the first running event of the day the Sheridan Girls took home 10-points in the 4x800 as Lauren Buyan, Erin Jensik, Monica Neavill and Katie Rotellini took first place.

"Pothole Repairers" were seen in action on Thursday working on the block of West Works between Tschirgi and Thurmond Streets - and yes that is in Sheridan, Wyoming. Sheridan Fire-Rescue Respond to Saturday Morning House Fire

Sheridan Fire-Rescue is in the news again this week, this time with word of responding to a house fire at 959 Burton just after 7:30 Saturday morning.

Rockies- MIAMI (AP) - Florida's Anibal Sanchez took a no-hitter into the ninth inning before giving up a broken-bat lead-off single to Colorado's Dexter Fowler, and the Marlins beat the Rockies 4-1 on Friday night.

Sanchez (1-1) struck out nine and allowed one unearned run in the bid for his second career no-hitter. He walked three, including Fowler to lead off the game. A two-out fielding error by first baseman Gaby Sanchez allowed Fowler to score. On Sanchez's 116th pitch of the night, Fowler singled to right and ended the no-hitter.

Caring Threads Group Gives to Those in Need

The Tongue River Valley Community Center and the Fiber House in Sheridan have collaborated to form “Caring Threads”, a fiber arts group that provides knitting and crocheted items for those in need.
