Elk in the park.

These pictures were taken on 2/26/2011 of the elk in the park. My dad, Chris Ehnis, happened to see the elk with the ball stuck on his horns and asked me to come up and bring my camera. The elk was casually laying in the snow...the ball didn't seem to bother him.

SHERIDAN YOUTH HOCKEY

Two of Sheridan’s own players won the Bantam division at the Great Western Showcase in Salt Lake City last weekend as members of Team Wyoming Hockey.

They lost their first game to Orange County (California) by a score of 6 to 1.

They also dropped a game to the Utah Regulators by a score of 3 to 2.

They then rallied back to win the next three games by defeating Jackson Hole 5 to 3 and then 5 to 0; and in the championship against Orange County they won in overtime by a score of 2 to 1 to take home the tournament trophy.

Ticket Prices set for the 4-A east regional basketball tournament

These are the ticket prices for this week's 4-A regional basketball tournament at Sheridan high school.

Ticket Prices are set by the Wyoming High School Activities Association

ADULT-$5.00 PER SESSION

STUDENT-$4.00 PER SESSION

ADULT ALL-SESSIONS PASS-$13.00

STUDENT ALL-SESSIONS PASS-$10.00

Game 1 starts at 4:00 pm on Thursday , 5:30 pm, 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm

Same schedule on Friday. Saturday starts at 10:00, 11:30, and championship games at 1:00 and 3:30.

Jacob Ahrens' Brave Fight

Just before Christmas, 2010, 5-year-old Jacob Ahrens of Sheridan was diagnosed with an inoperable mid-brain tumor. Jacob and his parents, Tina Combridge and Joshua Ahrens, visited Sheridan Media Friday to share an update on how he's doing.

Poll Question: Retail Liquor Licenses for Box / Grocery Stores

Will Sheridan shoppers one day be able to purchase alcohol at the grocery store?

At last week's Sheridan City Council meeting, it was announced that Wal-Mart in Sheridan has applied for a retail liquor license to sell alcoholic beverages. Wal-Mart in Cody has also applied for a retail liquor license.
