Cause of Fatal Fire in Sheridan Released

Sheridan FIre-Rescue has determined that fatal fire earlier this month was accidental.

Sheridan Fire-Rescue has concluded their investigation into the cause of the January 11th, fire at 726 Long Drive in Sheridan that claimed the life of 42-year-old Ginny Lynn Erdman. Fire Marshal Brian Songer explains what the investigation revealed.

17-year-old Dharminder Sen was sentenced in 4th Judicial District Court Thursday morning. On Count 1, Murder in the First Degree for the August 26, 2009 shooting death of Robert Ernst, Sen was sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole.

A Halo For Jesse Cerwick

A halo of silence surrounded Holy Name Church in Sheridan Thursday. Approximately 300 people stood in reverence and as a shield of "protection" for the mourners attending the service of Private Jesse Cerwick.

District 1 Board Selects Three Finalists for Superintendent

The School District 1 Board of Trustees will ultimately make the final decision on the new Superintendent.

In no particular order, the finalists are:

Martin Kobza, a superintendent in Thermopolis, WY. He will visit District 1 February 7th and 8th to be interviewed by the School Board, tour all the schools in Big Horn, Ranchester and Dayton, and speak on both sides of the district to the public.

Sheridan Scenic Character Plan Workshop

About forty participated in an interactive presentation regarding the Sheridan landscape Wednesday evening in the Watt's Center at Sheridan College. Participant responses will help guide in the development of policy and strategy for the preservation and enhancement of the scenic views, especially into and out of the main corridors of Sheridan.
