Jo Co Football Players Get Post-Season Honors

All-Conference and All-State selections have been named for this high school football season, and a number of Johnson County players received post season honors.
In Class 3A, All-Conference selections from Buffalo were Jared Chesbro, Aaron Fenner, Michael Lloyd, Dylan Marton, Chris Mikal, Collin Rodriquez, Kalob Rodriquez, and Trevor Scantling.
The 3A East Conference Coach of the Year was Brent Gross of Buffalo.

Wyoming Governor Matt Mead said in a media release issued Tuesday that he'll continue to push to prevent the closing of rural post offices in Wyoming.

First Light Children's Center Announces Executive Director

Ann Perkins has been named the Executive Director of the First Light Children's Center in Sheridan.

First Light Inc. has named Ann Perkins of Sheridan as its first executive director. Perkins began her duties this past Monday.

Governor Mead Opposes Closure of Rural Post Offices

In a news release Tuesday Governor Mead indicated his opposition to the closing of rural post offices in Wyoming. The post office at Leiter Wyoming shown here is among the 43 post offices in the state that the U.S.P.S. has listed for possible closure. Governor Mead noted that these closures would add 40-60 miles miles of driving for rural residents to get their mail, but that the U.S.P.S.

A Shower for the 4A Coach of the Year (updated)

The Wyoming Coaches Association has named Sheridan's Don Julian the Class 4A Coach of the Year. His name and that of Cheyenne East's Chad Goff are on the ballot for Wyoming Coach of the Year - the results of that ballot will be counted on December 6th.

Business Council Satisfied With First Light Proposal

The Wyoming Business Council recently reviewed the proposal from First Light Inc. to be the future tenants of the Hand in Hand Childcare center in Sheridan.

US 14A Closed For Season

The 22-mile stretch of US 14A through the Big Horn Mountains closed Wednesday, according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation, a week earlier than its traditional winter closure on November 30th.
