Wyoming Jobless Rate 5.8 Percent in September

CHEYENNE (AP) - Wyoming's unemployment rate held steady at 5.8 percent in September. The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the state's jobless rate appears to have stabilized, remaining in the narrow range of 5.7 percent to 5.9 percent in each of the past four months.

Former NFL quarterback Jim McMahon, perhaps best known for his role on the 1985 Chicago Bears Super Bowl team, will be in Sheridan this weekend to support the Wounded Warrior Project.

It's still October, but the Sheridan Chamber of Commerce is already gearing up for the Christmas Stroll. 12-year-old Kailee Becking was announced as the winner of the Christmas Stroll Button Design Contest Monday.

Whitney Benefits has maintained its certification for fiduciary excellence for the second year, an award attained through an independent audit determining adherence to "excellence in investment standards".

Middle School volleyball champs

Tongue River Middle School competed in Buffalo's 3A Volleyball tournament. They defeated Wheatland and Newcastle before defeating Glenrock for the championship.

Lady Bison Swimmers Headed to State

The Lady Bison swim team was at the Conference meet last week in Newcastle, and had a number of great finishes. The girls took fourth as a team.
Taking the top spot in the 200 medley relay was the team of Hannah Chapin, Misty Ballek, Caley Stafford and Sara Ott, and they also took second in the 200 free relay.
Chapin took first in the 100 freestyle, and Stafford finished first in the 100 breaststroke, and Gracie Meachum won the diving event.

Buffalo, Jo Co to Get Update On Nerd Energy Project
