House Panel Passes Bill Tweaking School Funding

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A legislative committee has approved a bill that would tweak Wyoming's school funding model after some members argued that the model isn't the reason the state has failing schools. The House Education Committee approved House Bill 127 Friday and sent it to the full House.

Cap On Interest on Hospital Bills Gets Initial OK

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Interest on unpaid hospital bills would be capped under a bill winning preliminary approval in the Wyoming Senate. The measure's sponsor, Democratic state Senator Chris Rothfuss of Laramie, says interest rates on unpaid hospital bills can reach 18 percent in Wyoming.

The #1 ranked Sheridan Lady Bronc Basketball team continues to roll as they downed the Lady Plainsman easily by a final of 67-39. The Lady Broncs jumped out to an early lead and held a 10 point lead at the half. The Lady Broncs outscored Laramie 35-17 in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Senator Barrasso Visits Sheridan Rotary

U.S. Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming paid a visit to Sheridan Friday, and was the featured speaker at the Rotary luncheon. Answering a question that was on the mind of several in attendance, he addressed the shooting in Tucson January 8th.
