Weekend Structure Fire Destroys Garage

District 2 Board Awards Several Bids

The Sheridan County School District 2 Board held its September meeting Monday night.

During a Capital Construction Update on the new Meadowlark Elementary School, District Facilities Director Julie Carroll said that design documents have been given to the Wyoming School Facilities Commission for 60% review.

Sheridan college Rodeo- It was the first action of the season and Sheridan College placed third out of 14 schools. Allen Auer from Whitewood, SD and Zach Scofield from Faith, SD won the Short round in the Team Roping and Placed 2nd in the average. Allen got bucked off in the short round in the bullriding and ended up in 10th place. Zach Scofield placed 5th in the long round in the Saddle Bronc Riding and place 5th in the average. Shane Stevens from Hawk Springs, Wyoming placed 5th in the long round in the bareback riding and was 4th in the short round and 4th in the average.

TR EAGLES FOOTBALL - Tongue River Eagles football team fell short in a 26-20 loss against Glenrock last Friday.

The Eagles play at Moorcroft this week Head coach Chuck Walters says the Eagles are coming off a stinging loss against Glenrock but he can see the Eagles are getting closer to putting it all together.

And he says lessons learned in that loss has helped open the eyes of the players and coaches that will help them get ready to play at Moorcroft Friday.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs play their next two at home beginning with Rock Springs Friday night at 7:00.

Boots, Bandannas, And A Little “Bling” At This Year's VOA Barn Dance

Its time again to pull out your bandannas and boots as the third annual Volunteers of America “Bandanna Barn Dance” fundraiser is coming up on the 25th. VOA Director PJ Treide says they are expecting over 300 people at this year's dance, which will include live music by the “Saddle Tramp Band.” And the program, he tells us:

Sheridan City Hall Goes “Back To The Future” This Week

It's a little bit bigger than a bread basket. And it is going into the walls of Sheridan City Hall this Thursday.

Sheridan City Hall's 100th birthday is this year and a celebration planned for this Thursday was supposed to include opening a time capsule.
