Man Cited for Beating Fawn to Death

The Wyoming Game and Fish cited James Mack of Sheridan for Wanton Destruction of Wildlife.

Sheridan Police assisted Wyoming Game and Fish Monday afternoon on a report of a male subject who killed a fawn deer with a shovel in his front yard on Thurmond Avenue.

The subject, 64-year-old James Mack of Sheridan, was cited by Game and Fish Warden Bruce Scigliano for Wanton Destruction of Wildlife. Mack must appear in Sheridan County Circuit Court on August 9th.

Fire Restrictions Now In Place

Ironically, a wet spring can mean a fire-filled summer. Sheridan County Fire Warden Bill Biastock says that our green spring has produced good grass that is drying rapidly, increasing the risk for wild fires:

SHERIDAN LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL - The Sheridan Little League team made it all the way to the semi-finals at the state tournament over the weekend before being eliminated. The team went 5-1 overall in the tournament and coach Mike McCafferty says it was a tremendous experience for the
players.

The Sheridan City Council held a work session Monday, where they received an update from Sheridan County Suicide Prevention Coalition Chair Vanessa Hastings. Hastings went over the results of the 2009 Youth Risk Behavior Survey for Sheridan County High Schools.

SHAC/NMNA Collaborate for Grant Application

SHAC and the North Main Neighborhood Association will submit and grant application for planning only grant for a  housing study.

The Sheridan Housing Action Committee, or SHAC, has joined forces with the North Main Neighborhood Association to apply for a planning only grant through the Wyoming Business Council to conduct a housing study. SHAC Executive Director Karin Spann explains just what the grant would be used for and the collaboration with NMNA.
