Blood Screening Appointments are Being Taken For The Health Fair

This year's Health Fair will be September 18th at Sheridan College.

Blood draws for this year's upcoming Health Fair will be held at Sheridan Memorial Hospital August 12th through the 20th. Hospital Community Relations Director Cecile Pattison says that they are currently taking appointments for the blood screenings.

Bear Mauling And Trapped Cubs Near Yellowstone

(AP) - Montana wildlife officials have
captured a female grizzly and two of her three cubs in a campground near Yellowstone National Park where a man was killed and two others injured in a bear attack.
Fish, Wildlife and Parks Warden Capt. Sam Sheppard says the sow was captured in a culvert trap Wednesday evening and two of her
three cubs were captured overnight.

Wyoming State Junior Open Tennis

Sheridan has good results at the Wyoming state Junior Open Tennis Championships

Local junior tennis players represented Sheridan well at the Wyoming Junior Open Tennis Tournament in Casper over the weekend.

Gigi Ruskowsky took first place in the Girls 18 Doubles, Reed Ritterbush took first place in the Boys 14 Singles and Boys 14 Doubles as well as winning the consolation championship in the Boys 16 Singles.

Julia Fenn took first place in the Girls 16 Doubles, second place in the Girls 16 Singles and was the consolation champion in the Girls 18 Singles.

JUNIOR AMERICA'S CUP GOLF

Sheridan's Kamrin Allen is playing with teammate Taylor Reed at the Jr America's cup

The Jr America's cup golf tournament is being played in Albuquerque, New Mexico this week. Two Sheridan Broncs are part of the four person team Wyoming.

Kamrin Allen and Taylor Reed are playing with Dylan Lym of Evanston and Kyle Fanning from Cheyenne.

Entering the Third and final round today Allen is tied for 16th place at one-over par with rounds of 71 and 72. Reed is tied for 63rd place at seven over.

DAY ONE OF THE STATE AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL TOURNAMENT

State baseball continues today at Thorne-Rider Stadium

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL STATE TOURNAMENT - The 1st round of the state American legion baseball tournament is history the Sheridan Troopers got beat by Laramie 9-8 last night. The Troops rallied to take an 8-7 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth inning but Laramie had the last at bat and scored twice to advance.

The Troopers will play Rock Springs in a loser-out game this afternoon at 12:30.

The first game of the tournament went ten innings with Powell beating Torrington 8-7, Gillette beat Rock Springs 17-3 and Cheyenne beat Casper 9-4.

The garage sale is actually technically more of a parking-lot sale, as it will be located in the west parking lot on Burkitt St. behind the Sheridan Courthouse.

The Sheridan City Council held a special meeting Wednesday to consider a resolution supporting a grant application to the Wyoming Business Council on behalf of the Sheridan Housing Action Committee. The grant application is for a planning only Community Development Block Grant to perform a housing assessment of the North Main area of Sheridan.
