Despite a rain-filled morning, the star-spangled sky over the Bighorns were flushed with fireworks this Fourth for the annual Independence Day celebration at the Bighorn Equestrian Center.
A recent survey conducted by the Sonoran Institute revealed that of 300 Sheridan County residents polled, 71% would favor spending 1-Cent funds on Parks, Trails and Conservation projects.
This year’s summer exhibition at the Ucross Foundation Art Gallery features the work of artists, Pamela Kendall Schiffer and David Bungay. Called “Elemental Nature,” the show features 58 paintings and prints which focus on the natural world, particularly the American West.

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers dropped two games in Cody last Friday and will play on the road tonight in Riverton. The Troops play two at home Wednesday night against Sturgis, South Dakota. The Troopers start the post season at their district tournament July 22nd the top four qualify for the state tournament which begins in Sheridan July 28th. Head coach Ben Phillips says the Troops have some quality games to play over the next three weeks.
Absentee balloting for this year's Primary Election will begin this Thursday, July 8th. Sheridan County Election Supervisor Brenda Miech says there are a couple of ways to obtain an absentee ballot if you can't be present at the polls on Election Day.
