CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A grizzly bear killed a man just outside Yellowstone National Park, apparently just hours after researchers had trapped and tranquilized the animal. The Park County Sheriff's Office says the attack happened Thursday after members of the Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team finished examining a large adult male grizzly.

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - An animal-rights group has posted a video showing horses being shocked with electric prods at the College National Finals Rodeo. The event's stock contractor says the prods were used within rodeo rules.

31-year-old Brett Lattin of Sheridan was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson for his role in a scheme to defraud Marathon Oil Company. Lattin received 41 months of imprisonment to be followed by 3 years of supervised release and was ordered to pay $2,450,000 in restitution to Marathon Oil.

Earlier this month, we reported that the Sheridan Senior Center was up for an award from ServeWyoming, but that it was up to the public to vote. Word came this morning that at last night's Philanthropy Days banquet

The Senior Center won the ServeWyoming Non-Profit Impact Award at the Philanthropy Days banquet in Laramie. Out of 530 votes the Senior Center had 243 and won by 20.

Monday, June 21st, the public is invited to attend a free concert on the grounds of the Sheridan VA Medical Center. Sheridan Media's Mary Jo Johnson has more.
