New Report Shows That Diabetes Continues To Be On The Rise In Wyoming, But What About Sheridan County?

A report released by the Wyoming Department of Health shows that diabetes continues to rise among the adult population, as more than 7% of adults in Wyoming have been diagnosed with diabetes, which translates to about 30,000 residents.

Advocacy & Resource Center Seeks Volunteers

The Advocacy and Resource Center in Sheridan is looking for volunteers to help with their 24-hour crisis hot-line. Victim Advocate with the Advocacy and Resource Center Rhonda Weber explains why the volunteers help is so essential.

Weber says that there is some training that is required of volunteers.

Dog And Cat Shelter Chili Supper and Family Fun Night Is This Saturday

The Dog and Cat Shelter of Sheridan will be holding a chili supper and family fun night fund raiser Saturday evening in Sheridan. Shelter Director Cel Hope says that there are numerous activities planned for the night.

Sheridan Figure Skaters Excel At Competition In South Dakota

Six Sheridan Ice Figure Skaters recently participated in the 5th annual Black Hills Gold Rush competition in Rapid City South Dakota, which is a U.S. Figure Skating competition. Coach Emily Emond says that all six took home numerous medals.

Why Could A Tech Park Make Sheridan More Beautiful?

A public hearing on a proposed tech park for north of Sheridan took place at the Trails End last night. The proposed site for the tech park is on 38-acres by the V.A., Brian Kuehl, Managing Partner at The Clark Group, which is the consulting firm for this project, says they selected this location, in part, because of the redundant Internet in this area.

Sheridan College Rolls Out The Red Carpet

They rolled out the red carpet at Sheridan College last night for their first ever student-produced film festival. Randy Hyder, who is the Multi-Media Engineer for the College, says the students from the Film Club put together a wacky assortment of films.

Public Enjoyed Tours at Sheridan Memorial Hospital Wednesday

Doors opened wide yesterday as the public was invited to tour the newly constructed Sheridan Memorial Hospital lab, the Medical Arts Complex lab, and Big Horn Mountain Medicine in Sheridan.

WYDOT Holds Public Meetings to Update on North Main Road Closures

Drivers needing to use Fort Road beginning next Monday, February 23rd, will have to make adjustments to the route they take. WYDOT Public Involvement Specialist Ronda Holwell.

Holwell says that there will be plenty of signs, and drivers will need to be prepared to drive more slowly in the detour areas.

Sheridan High School Key Club Sponsoring a Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser Friday

The hardworking students in the Sheridan High School chapter of Key Club invite the public to a chili cook-off tomorrow evening. Chelsea Kethman (keeth-mun) is a Jr. at SHS, and while she is a member of the Sheridan Chapter, she serves as Lieutenant Governor for Division 1 in the Rocky Mountain District.

Space Shuttle Payload Includes Items From Yellowstone National Park

NASA launched the Space Shuttle Endeavour last week where it has now rendezvoused with the International Space Station. Yellowstone National Park Spokesman Al Nash tells us that there is a little piece of Wyoming that went along for the ride.
