Phase one of the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Master Plan is underway and it will significantly improve drainage at the fairgrounds. Phase one calls for the removal of the restrooms in the infield area, however; County Commissioner Steve Maier stated that there wouldn't be enough funding available in the upcoming budget to cover the cost of building new restrooms at this time.

The Sheridan Recreation District Board of Trustees approved a proposal from OLC out of Denver Colorado to design a spray park in Sheridan. The spray park would be located within Thorne-Rider Park, however; the exact location will be determined in the future by OLC. Board Member Bill Mentock raised the question of affordability of the project.

In the ongoing effort to improve upon patient safety at the Sheridan VA Medical Center, particularly in the Psychiatric Ward, two VA employees designed an award-winning door that is taking off on a national level. Sheridan Media's Mary Jo Johnson has part one of a series.

For several years now, the American Cancer Society has run a springtime campaign called Daffodil Days, raising money for cancer research, education, and patient support. The cheerful flower was chosen because daffodils are considered the Flower of Hope.
