Winter Shootout is This Weekend in Sheridan

The Sheridan Recreation District is gearing up for the annual Holiday Inn Winter Shootout Basketball tournament this weekend. Sheridan Recreation District Executive Director Richard Wright says that there are 72 teams competing in this year's tournament.

Bison swimmers open season on good note

The Buffalo boys' swim team started their season last weekend by taking fifth place in the Casper Relays, and placing three underclassmen at the Gillette Pentathlon.
Coach Ron Chapin said the team swam well at Casper against mainly 4A competition.

County Rejects Sand Creek Proposal

The Johnson County Commission, acting as the County Board of Equalization, on Wednesday voted to reject a formal proposal from Sand Creek Ranch that could have resolved a more than 2 and a half year-old stalemate between the two entities on land tax assessments on the ranch property.
