SAWS Board Approves Water Use Agreement With Sheridan County School District One

The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board approved the water service agreement with Sheridan County School District 1 for use at the Big Horn School complex that is under construction.

Legislative Committee Recommends Changes In Next Session

The Labor, Health, and Social Services interim committee of the Wyoming Legislature met in Sheridan yesterday. Committee Co-Chair Jack Landon says they will sponsor a bill to update the way Wyoming collects unemployment taxes.

Community Health Officials Gear Up For The Swine Flu

With the seasonal flu season just around the corner, Sheridan County Health officials are gearing up for another busy year of immunizations. This year of course, much of the discussion about influenza is focused on the swine flu. The Wyoming Department of Health reports that there are 179 laboratory confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus and one reported death.

Gary Small & the Coyote Brothers Land Two Nammy Nominations

The 11th Annual Native American Music Awards will be held October 3rd at the Seneca Entertainment Center in the Seneca Casino & Hotel in Niagara Falls, New York. In the audience will be Sheridan's Gary Small & the Coyote Brothers, who have been nominated for two "Nammy's" -- the Indian version of the Grammys.

SHS SWIMMING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers didn't win their dual in Laramie this past Friday, but they did get some good results. The highlight of the meet was getting three more State Meet qualifiers. Tomorrow they have a dual in Gillette, and once again this fall Gillette's team is very strong.

City Council Considers Street Annexations

The Brundage Lane reconstruction project is still underway and involves the cooperation of the City of Sheridan, Sheridan County, and the Wyoming Department of Transportation.
