The Sheridan Civic Theater Guild will begin its 54th season next Friday night, October 2nd with a Paul Zindel-written play entitled “The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds”. The play is being directed by Malcom Wallop, who explains why they are getting a little bit later start than usual.
The first annual Clear Creek Cannon Shoot will take place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the C Bar B Ranch east of Buffalo. Fort Phil Kearney Site Superintendent Bob Wilson says there will be a number of different types of cannons at the shoot.
The National Science Foundation has awarded a $200,000 grant to help create a database of the Eastern Shoshone language. University of Wyoming American Indian Studies Program Director, Judy Antell, says the database will be the basis for the future development of additional Eastern Shoshone language and teaching materials.
FOOTBALL - Taking a look at football action this week, all four of our Sheridan County teams will play on the road Friday. The Sheridan Broncs are 3-1 overall and will play at Gillette. The Camels are 4-0, and ranked #1 in 4-A.
In a media release late Monday from Pinnacle Gas Resources, Inc. in Sheridan, the company announced that on September 15, 2009 it received notification from the NASDAQ Stock Market that Pinnacle is not in compliance with the minimum bid price NASDAQ requires because its stock price has been less than $1 per share for the previous 30 consecutive business days.
Sheridan City Council held its final regular meeting of the month Monday. It’s still early in the fiscal year, but overall the City of Sheridan appears to be on budget for 2010. Some of the revenue figures were artificially inflated due to some funds receiving 100% of their yearly revenues at the start of the fiscal year.
The efforts to find clean and renewable energy have led many to speculate that Wyoming has more than just fossil fuel energy resources. While we do have a climate that produces an abundance of wind, Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal says it may not make economic sense at this time.
