Every year Sheridan Memorial Hospital helps organize a fundraiser for the Diabetes Strip Assistance Program. For the last few years they have sponsored the “Dirt Duathlon;” however, this year the race should have been called the “Mud Duathlon.” Organizer Rob Forister says they nearly doubled the number of participants from last year.
Despite getting hit with a couple of rain showers, the Taste of Sheridan still had a great turnout. Dubbed a giant Community Picnic, the event was held at Thorne-Rider Park in Sheridan Sunday afternoon. There was an area for children to play on inflatables; a concert area where folks could relax and listen to first a bluegrass band and then a rock band; and there was a beer garden.
