City Council Chooses New Councilor

The Sheridan City Council considered five applications to fill the vacant council seat on Monday at City Hall. Jerry Grandahl would have been the sixth candidate but he withdrew his application on Monday morning. The five remaining applicants were interviewed by the Council and asked the same series of three questions.

Car Dealers Accused Of Altering Car's Odometers

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Two car salesmen have been indicted on charges that they tampered with vehicles' odometers to falsely show lower mileage to sell the cars for a higher price.

Rawlins Man Faces Life In Prison In Bar Shooting

RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) - A judge ruled prosecutors can proceed with the case of a man accused of attempted murder after allegedly shooting another man nine times.

Twenty-two-year-old Timothy David Kramer faces life in prison if convicted of attempted first-degree murder in the March 4 shooting of Steven Devore. A judge ruled Friday Kramer's case can proceed in Carbon County District Court.

Grizzly Injured Former Police Officer

CODY, Wyo. (AP) - The northern Wyoming man who killed a grizzly bear with a handgun as it attacked him earlier this month is a former Baltimore police officer trained to respond to difficult and violent situations, fellow officers say.

No Bail For Man Wanted In Child Molestation Case

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Mississippi fugitive on the lam for nearly 15 years after being accused of molesting two girls has been ordered held without bail after his capture this week.
