FBI Arrests Mississippi Fugitive in Wyoming

CHEYENNE, (AP) - A Mississippi fugitive accused of child molestation in the 1990's has been arrested by the FBI in the southern Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming.

Special Agent in Charge, James Davis, in Denver released a statement announcing that Edward Eugene Harper was arrested Thursday in Washakie County.

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets and Troopers opened post-season baseball tournaments yesterday. The Jets began with a great opening round win over Casper. Paul Geisey threw a complete game shut-out and got great defensive play behind him in the 2-0 victory over the Drillers. Tonight they head into the Winners' bracket against Gillette.

Farmers Market Continues To Grow In Sheridan

Several years ago the Sheridan Farmer’s Market began to draw crowds to downtown Sheridan. The first several markets were held on Grinnell Plaza. Two years ago, the event moved to Whitney Commons. Construction and detours may have limited access somewhat, but not enough to keep the market from being more popular than ever.

Two Burglary Defendants Plead Not-Guilty In Separate Cases

In his first appearance in 4th Judicial District Court, 20-year-old Daniel Hemmer pled not-guilty on a burglary charge. The affidavit of probably cause alleges that on March 22nd or 23rd Hemmer illegally entered his parents home with the intent to steal from them. Judge John Fenn adjusted Hemmer’s bond at the request of the state.
