The Wyoming girls and boys basketball teams played much better in Billings than they did Friday night in Sheridan.

Sports for Saturday 06/13/09

The Sheridan media benefit golf tournament raised over 11 thousand dollars for the Sheridan public arts Committee. Golfers were met with perfect playing conditions at Kendrick golf course the winning team was Pat Johnson, Justin Coon, Tom Mayer and Steve Rucki. The money raised yesterday will to purchasing two new sculptures to be located at the new early childhood education center.

SENATOR JOHN BARRASSO STOPS BY SHERIDAN MEDIA ON HIS WAY TO MEDICAL MEETING

Doctors from around the state have converged on Sheridan for the annual Wyoming Medical Society and Wyoming Association of Physicians Assistants meeting at the Holiday Inn.

U.S. Senator John Barrasso stopped by Sheridan Media Friday en route to the meeting, and expressed the importance of this year's event.

RECOVERY ACT ALLOWS GRANT OPPURTUNITIES TO BECOME AVAILABLE

In an effort to address the needs of Wyoming’s workforce and businesses, the Wyoming Workforce Development Council is pleased to announce the release of three competitive grant opportunities.  Wyoming businesses, educational institutions and other eligible entities are encouraged to apply.  A total of just over 690 thousand is available for distribution.

PALEONTOLOGISTS DON'T DIG CLOSING WYOMING DINOSAUR MUSEUM

(AP) - Paleontologists are roaring over a decision by the University of Wyoming to close its Geological Museum to save money. The museum is small but has significant dinosaur specimens.

The Wyoming / Montana high school all-star basketball basketball series tips off tonight in the Hoffman dome at Sheridan college. Four Sheridan county newly graduated seniors will play for team Wyoming on the boys roster is Micheal Tucker he played his high school basketball for Larry Moser at Tongue river high school and was an all-stater this past season.

LOCAL TEENS TO PUT ON PRODUCTION AT CARRIAGE HOUSE THEATER IN JULY

An inspired group of 2009 Sheridan High school graduates have joined forces to produce Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, a comedy about a widower who, after marrying another woman, is haunted by the ghost of his former wife.

The Wyoming all-star basketball teams have one day left before they tip off their annual series with the Montana all-stars this year's girls team has three players from Sheridan county on the roster Taylor Gardner and Katie Strandholm from Sheridan high school and Morgan Mines from Arvada-Clearmont.
