SHERIDAN CITY COUNCIL ADOPTS NIGHT SKY ORDINANCE

The Sheridan City Council took a big step in preserving the night sky at their meeting Monday night. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.

SHERIDAN CITY COUNCIL JOINT LAND USE PLAN ADOPTED

The City of Sheridan and Sheridan County have now both adopted the Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan, this after Monday night's unanimous decision by the City Council. City Planning Director Robert Briggs says a lot of people came together to develop the plan.

LANDFILL NETS BIG NUMBERS FOR TREES FOR TRASH

The final numbers from the City Landfill regarding Tress for Trash have been released. Solid Waste Manager Charles Martineau gives us the details.

Martineau says that there are a few new things at the landfill that helped get residents through quicker.

REPRESENTATIVE MADDEN TALKS PROPERTY TAXES ON PUBLIC PULSE

State Representative Mike Madden appeared on KROE'S Public Pulse program Monday, where he discussed a number of different topics with host Kim Love. One of the topics Madden addressed was property taxes and the fact that a homestead exemption is most likely not in the foreseeable future.

IT'S TIME FOR THE ANNUAL TREES FOR TRASH IN SHERIDAN

Today is the annual Trees for Trash in Sheridan, where you can exchange your trash for a free scotch pine at either the City Landfill or McDonald's on North Main. Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey encourages the public to help clean things up.

DISTRICT ONE STILL PUSHING FOR ARTIFICIAL TURF AT NEW SCHOOL IN BIGHORN

Throughout the entire planning and design process for the new school in Bighorn, it was agreed upon that artificial turf would be the playing surface for the football field. In April, the Director of the state School Facilities Commission requested officials from Sheridan County School District One formally ask the commission for their approval of the artificial field.

THINGS ARE STARTING TO PICK UP AT SHERIDAN TRAVEL AND TOURISM

This is the time of year when things begin to pick up for the travel industry and that holds true for Sheridan Travel and Tourism

That's Sheridan Travel and Tourism Director Penny Becker, who says she's been busy spreading the word about all of the various activities in Sheridan.

MEMBERS OF FAIRGROUNDS ASSOCIATION MEET WITH USERS GROUP COMMITTEE

Sheridan County Fair Association Board Chairman Bill White and Facilities Director Sharon Nadeau recently met with representatives from the User's Group Committee. Chairman White says the meeting went well for both sides.

The soccer season for the Broncs and Lady Broncs came to a close yesterday in the 4-A east regional tournament play. The Broncs played in Cheyenne yesterday and got knocked out of post season play when they lost a 1-0 decision to Campbell County. Gillette scored the games only goal in the first half.
