City Of Sheridan Police Chief

At the end of December, current Sheridan Police Chief Mike Card will be moving back to California, and there are six semi-finalists in a candidate pool for his replacement on the force. The panel weeding out the candidates from applications originally numbering around 100 has decided to withhold the names of these six, for the time being at least.

Big Horn Skiing

TEN SLEEP, Wyo. (AP) - New owners of the Big Horn Mountain Ski Resort near Ten Sleep hope to open the resort next month, but they're waiting for U.S. Forest Service approval. Wayne and Holli Jones bought the resort this summer. Holli Jones says she and her husband have met with the Forest Service and are hoping for a permit by Dec. 10 at the latest.

Wyoming Trooper Gets 15 Years In Prison

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A former Wyoming state trooper has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for kidnapping a truck driver in what prosecutors say was an aborted murder plot.Federal judge Alan B. Johnson said Friday he regarded Franklin Joseph Ryle's plan as half-baked. But the judge said there was no doubt his offense was serious and required a significant sentence.
