TR VOLLEYBALL - The Tongue River Lady Eagles beat Moorcroft twice during the regular season last night the Lady Eagles took care of business and are now on their way to the 2-A east regional volleyball tournament.
Sheridan County voters approved the capital facilities tax in August. Now that the county should start seeing revenues from that tax, the City of Sheridan has been asked to alter the way the money is distributed. In prior taxes, all the entities involved have agreed to direct all revenues from the taxes for a few months to the smaller communities and their projects.
When the two blocks that housed Central Middle School were originally platted, alleys and lot divisions were present. Loucks Street was vacated so the school could be built. However, the alleys never were. Holy Name Catholic church now holds the property as undeveloped land and would like the alley right-of-ways vacated to facilitate development.
The Sheridan City Council held their second October meeting yesterday. They approved the 2nd reading of two ordinances that amended the development code requiring traffic studies and infrastructure agreements for certain new developments.
The Sheridan County Historical Society will be holding their monthly dinner and program this Thursday night at the Sheridan Holiday Inn. The program will be presented by Trail End Historic Site Superintendent Cynde Georgen, who explains what it will entail.
CASPER, (AP) - The U.S. Energy Department has bought a geothermal plant north of Casper for an undisclosed amount. Ormat Technologies, of Reno, Nevada, built the plant at the Teapot Dome oil field to prove the technical feasibility of using hot water associated with oil production to generate electricity.
CHEYENNE, (AP) - A federal judge has delayed the sentencing of a former Wyoming state trooper who has pleaded guilty to criminal charges in an aborted scheme to murder a truck driver. U.S. District Judge Clarence Brimmer last week postponed the sentencing date for former trooper Franklin Joseph Ryle. Sentencing was pushed back from this Friday to October. 29th.
