BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A 50-year-old former vice president of First Interstate Bank in Hardin has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for stealing more than $1.6 million from the bank.

Chief U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull on Wednesday also ordered Vickie D. Becker to pay back the money. Becker had pleaded guilty earlier to bank fraud and money laundering.

HARDIN, Mont. (AP) - Voters in Big Horn County have narrowly approved a $7.5 million bond issue to expand and improve Hardin High School. The bond issue passed Tuesday on a 634-619 vote, allowing Hardin High School District 1 to issue the general-obligation bonds.

The Federal Communications Commission today meets to map out "rules of the road" for the Internet. The commission is considering net neutrality rules that would prevent companies that operate the broadband network, such as AT & T and Comcast, from slowing or blocking content on the World Wide Web.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Department of Employment reports that the state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased from 6.6% in August to 6.8% in September.

Children have been attending the Hand in Hand Early Childhood Education Center since September. For the last couple of months they’ve been working out all the kinks and settling in to the new facility constructed by the Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority.

Former Wyoming Governor and U.S. Senator Clifford P. Hansen passed away at his home in Jackson Tuesday night at the age of 97. Governor Dave Freudenthal says Hansen will be missed by many.

44-year old Joan M. Baumann of Sheridan died in a car accident Tuesday afternoon on Interstate I-90 two miles east of Buffalo in Johnson County. A news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol states that the accident occurred at 4:23pm Tuesday when a vehicle driven by 18-year old Cara D. Underwood of Danville, Kentucky attempted to pass Baumann's vehicle.
