CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming Department of Health Director Dr. Brent Sherard says 12,200 doses of swine flu vaccine have been ordered for delivery to the state this week. This week's shipment follows 3,400 doses of the nasal spray that arrived to Wyoming two weeks ago and 8,400 doses including nasal spray and injectable vaccine that arrived last week.
BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team won a thriller at Homer Scott Stadium Friday night. They fell behind 20-7, but scored 21 straight points in the second half to beat Cheyenne Central 28-20, and get to 7-1 on the season.
The Sheridan City Council will meet for their second meeting in October tonight. The agenda itself is pretty light and includes Council consideration of a request to vacate alleys in the old Central Middle School property. Holy Name Catholic Church currently owns the land, and the alleys consist only of right-of-ways.
Four years ago Raising Readers of Wyoming started looking for ways to raise awareness for their program and the power of reading. They came up with an annual breakfast. For the past couple years they have hosted the “Book-Fest and Feast” at the Elks Lodge.
When you think of resident youth camping, snow and October seldom come to mind. However, the public was invited for an open house for the YMCA of the Bighorns youth camping facility over the weekend. YMCA Executive Director Jay McGinnis says the open house was the kick off event for a fundraising campaign for the youth camp.
