During the Sheridan High School musical "Peter Pan" the Sheridan Central Education Association invites you to participate in a silent auction of these and many more handmade birdhouses. The birdhouses will be on auction in the lobby with proceeds going to help fund college scholarships for local students.

"Peter Pan's" spunky Tinker Bell

Freshman Mariah Olesen, shown here, shares the mischievous role of Tinker Bell with senior Mona Tescher in the Sheridan High School musical production of "Peter Pan" in the Sue Henry Auditorium at the High School. Performances remaining are Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 1 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the high school office until 4:00 p.m.

"Peter Pan" Opens Thursday

Peter Pan's mask is ripped away by pirates led by Captain Hook in this scene of the "Peter Pan" musical that will open in the Sue Henry Auditorium at Sheridan High School at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The cast of 50 will also sing, dance and fly across the stage in performances on Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 1 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Sheridan Athletes Go to Simplot Track Meet

This last week starting on Thursday Feb. 17 and going through Saturday Feb. 19 Sheridan High School indoor track and field athletes traveled to Pocatello Idaho to compete in one of the largest national high school track meets. This year was a great year with over 20 Sheridan athletes making it to Simplot.

Sheridan North Main Street Reconstruction

Looking south from the intersection of 8th and N. Main Street men and equipment from DRM Inc. have resumed utility work in the center - work zone - of North Main Street from 8th Street to 5th Street. Traffic flow has been narrowed and shifted to the outside, near the curbs, in both directions. Weekly progress meetings with WYDOT, City of Sheridan, ENTECH and the contractor DRM Inc.

Sheridan a Distinctive Destination - Part II

Sheridan has been voted into the top 12 of the 2011 Distinctive Destinations by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. On Friday Sheridanites and historical characters gathered in the Historic Sheridan Inn for a "Sheridan Area Tourism Celebration" where food, singing, displays, historic characters, tours and spoken words were plentiful.

Kathy Mattea Returns to the WYO Theater

On a cold Sunday evening COAL was the theme as Kathy Mattea returned to the WYO Theater Stage. Kathy returned to her folk and bluegrass roots in support of her latest release, COAL saying she wanted to pay tribute to "my place and my people." 483 Sheridanites weren't disappointed as the WYO Theater sold out for her return. Historic Eatable Art

Kassi hit a home run with their "historic eatable art" - the Sheridan Area Tourism Celebration cake - at the Historic Sheridan Inn on Friday. Many Sheridanites and historical characters from the past gathered for a tourism celebration and the presentation of the Dozen Distinctive Destinations award that recognizes Sheridan, Wyoming as one of America's 2011 destinations.

Snow returned to the Sheridan Area on Saturday night as evidenced by this scene on Bird Farm Road between Big Horn and the Equestrian Center. Our area can expect up to 6-inches of blowing snow before President's Day arrivers when it is expected to be mostly sunny.
