Lady Eagles Still Perfect at 11-0

The No. 1 ranked Tongue River Lady Eagles went to Big Horn on Friday and notched another victory to go 11-0 on the season but the Big Horn Lady Rams made a game of it. Bailey Bard hit a two with 3:30 to go in the game to put Big Horn up 39 - 36 but then Jadyn Mirich and Gracie Goldhammer fouled out. Ranchester capitalized and pulled out a 45 to 41 victory.

Cutting the Ribbon at Qdoba

The Chamber Ambassadors held the ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday, January 8th for Qdoba Mexican Grill in Sheridan. The new restaurant at 2112 Coffeen Avenue opened in December.

Get Ready - Snowman Building Time Coming

From all indications snowman building opportunities are just around the corner. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Thursday evening through Saturday afternoon at which time the Sheridan area could have 6 to 12 inches of new snow. Perhaps snowman building like the one shown here is on the horizon.

Midwinter Bald Eagle Count Meeting January 8th

Seeing this bald eagle between Big Horn and Sheridan serves as reminder that the 2013 Midwinter Bald Eagle Survey will be conducted on January 12th. A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 8th in the Inner Circle of the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library at 6:00 pm. If there are any survey routes left unclaimed they will be assigned at this meeting.

Buffalo's Timothy Cohoon - Flying in the Butterfly

On Friday afternoon in Sheridan, Buffalo's Timothy Cohoon turned in a nice time of 1:09.38 to take 2nd place in the 100 Meter Butterfly. Timothy was narrowly edged out by Laramie's Slade Sheaffer - by less than a second. Buffalo beat Sheridan in team scoring 102 to 65 but fell to Laramie 105 to 80.

Big Horn Sweeps Wright - Twice

On Friday evening it was first the Lady Rams over the Wright Lady Panthers 46 to 34 and then it was the Rams over the Panthers 71- 53 to complete the home sweep to start the new year. Hanneah Puckett led the Lady Rams with 13 points followed by 11 from Bailey Bard. For the Rams it was Matthew Wigglesworth with 20-points followed by Tony Mort with 14.

Luke Ostrowski - Headed Your Way

Sheridan Bronc swimmer Luke Ostrowski is headed right at you as he competes in the 200 IM during Friday's swim meet against Laramie and Buffalo. Luke's time of 2:39.49 was good for 3rd Place in the 200 IM and later he also finished 3rd in the 100 breaststroke as well as swimming legs in two relays.
