The U.S. Senate Wednesday, overwhelmingly passed the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act by a vote of 95-3.

At approximately 5 p.m. last night, the Sheridan Police Department, Sheridan Fire-Rescue and Montana Dakota Utilities were on the scene, when a gas leak near the Downtown Sheridan Association building on the corner of Main Street and Coffeen Avenue was reported.

Fire Rescue and Police Say Burkitt Area is All Clear

Billings MDU officials worked to close down both sides of the leaking gas lines and at approximately 10:10 p.m., fire and police officials said they were wrapping up work and the area was deemed safe for people to return.

At approximately 5 p.m. the Sheridan Police Department, Sheridan Fire-Rescue and Montana Dakota Utilities were on the scene when a gas leak on Burkitt Street, between the intersections of Brooks and Scott streets, was reported.

A meeting has been set for precinct committee people in Wyoming Senate District 22 as a first step in filling the vacancy left by the death of State Senator John Schiffer. The meeting will be held at 5:30 on the afternoon of July 1 in the Story Women's Club on North Piney Road in Story.
